Angel Keepers – Mother’s Day Out Program
Mother’s Day Out is a combination of early childhood enrichment and quality care in a Christian environment. Our goal is children growing in thier self-esteem, curiosity, independence, and knowledge of how important they are to God and to us.
We are open every Tuesday and Thursday from 7:30 till 5:30.
If anyone is interested in knowing more about this ministry, please contact Cindy Odom (Director) at 936-676-5332.
Central Life Groups provide our members an opportunity to develop meaningful relationships while growing in their walk with the Lord. These groups consist of small groups with a Life Group leader or two leaders over the group. The groups usually meet on the 2nd, 3rd, and 4th Sunday’s of each month. A major holiday, Wedding Shower, Wedding, or significant event would alter the LG’s meeting schedule.
Our goal is to become part of the neighborhood surrounding our building, and to become stronger through relationships with people across the street as well as those across town. We meet those living around the building through walking and talking, hosting meals for those we have met and attending meals at their homes. As we build relationships with our neighbors, we have been blessed to have them, their children and grandchildren become a part of Central, learning with us about following Jesus.
Food Pantry Ministry
The Church Food Pantry is donation based by receiving donations from the church members. The church is able to assist families/individuals who are in need of a helping hand. The church secretary takes care of the distributions on an as need basis when an a family/person arrives asking for food. Another ministry team member must be present in order for her to give out a distribution. There is a form that the persons fill out if they have not done so before.
Women from the congregation take turns overseeing this ministry that delegates volunteers to take on one month of the year to prepare meals for members who are: sick, shut-in, members who have had surgeries, preparation and delegation as a team of ladies help with a meal for those who have lost a loved one.
Involvement with Mosaic Center
The Ladies Bible Class that meets on Tuesday mornings prepares a meal 2-3 times a year for all the teachers and students at the Mosaic Center. This involvement leads to relationships with ladies who are learning life skills and helps to connect with them on a personal level.
